St Margaret’s, Wrenbury
Welcome to St. Margaret's Wrenbury!! Our church is situated in the centre of Wrenbury village adjacent to the village green, and is open to visitors daily. Services are held each Sunday at 10.30am, and details can be found on the services page of this web site. 10.30am Family Services (Praise for All) at St. Margaret's Wrenbury Family services (now renamed Praise for All) happen on the second Sunday of every month. People of all ages are very welcome to attend and they're child friendly and less formal than the other services in the month. The service follows the lectionary teachings and often starts with an activity especially for the children. We also encourage the youngsters to choose a musical instrument and join together to 'play' during one of the hymns or more contemporary songs. The talks aim to engage people of all ages. The children stay in church for the service but there is a room at the back where a parent and child can take part in an activity with Bernie, our Sunday School teacher, if they are restless and causing the parent anxiety. The service usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour and there are refreshments afterwards at the back of church, where you can meet new friends or catch up with old ones.
St. Margaret's, Wrenbury - Organ The organ was built by Charles Whitely of Chester and installed in the west gallery in 1884. There are 2 manuals and pedals. It has tracker action to manuals and electric to pedals. Stop list:

St. Margaret's Fund Raising Committee A few years ago the PCC decided too much time was spent at the meeting on arranging events to raise money for the church, so a small fund raising committee was formed to arrange a programme of events which would then be taken to the PCC for their approval. This has proved successful and at present has seven members of the church, not all PCC members, who meet every six or eight weeks. They discuss their ideas which are carefully thought out to make sure they will be successful. This committee actually does most of the work involved in fund raising events, but can call on PCC members to help out. The 'Make a Tenner Grow' scheme was well supported last year and culminated at our Harvest Festival at St. Margaret's on 11th October when Reverend David announced that the fantastic sum on £3036.95 had been raised by everyone's efforts. We also returned in 2009 to having a traditional Harvest Evensong on the Friday followed by Harvest Supper in the Village Hall which was enjoyed by 94 people. This year's event was on Friday October 8th and here is the report from the new Chair of St. Margaret's Fundraising Committee Alison Long: St. Margaret's Harvest Service and the Supper that followed it was a great success. The church was beautifully decorated and visitors commented how nice it was to be at a traditional service in a rural setting. The food at the supper (thanks to Joe at the Cotton Arms) went down very well - as did the odd glass of falling-down water (it was after all a celebration of God's good gifts!) and we on the fund Raising Committee are most grateful to all the staff at the Cotton Arms for their generosity and help. The event raised over £300 for church funds and despite me having cooked the apple crumbles, no-one (at the time of going to press) has complained of food poisoning so there should be no deducted for compensation!! Thanks to all of you who came along. Your support was much appreciated.' During Wrenbury ScarecrowTrail weekend of July 2010, St. Margaret's held a very successful Flower Festival raising £3075 for church funds. The theme was Country Living, and the beautiful arrangements depicted work and leisure in the countryside.
